Scart Lead

Scart Lead

The scart lead has been the most common cable used to connect a TV in Europe for the past 30 years, a scart lead has a 21 pin plug each end, there are 20 small pins and the metal ring around them is pin 21. A scart cable is capable of transferring video and audio in a single cable, a fully wired scart supports the main analogue video standards, composite video (lowest quality), s-video and RGB. When transferring analogue audio and video a high quality cable is required, the video conductors within the cable should be miniature 75 ohm coaxial cable, cheaper cables without the correct construnction can cause problems such as picture ghosting.
